Chilean Cohort

The Chilean cohort includes data from medical records of 509 children and adolescents (6-19 years old) and 4,969 adults (range 20-101 years) evaluated at the Center for Medical and Surgical Treatment of Diabetes and Obesity in Santiago de Chile between 2000 – 2007.

With this database, we assessed the frequency of prediabetes and type 2 diabetes (T2D) and their associations with age and body mass index (BMI) in a population of children, adolescents, and adults from a clinical setting in Chile using a revised case finding protocol to request an oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) based on the presence of at least one risk factor for T2D but independently of age or BMI.
